Located in the Gulf of Maine south of the Kennebec River, the Seguin Island Lighthouse is the second-oldest of its kind on the state's coast. It is rumored to be haunted by a former keeper who got a piano for his young wife who needed something to do. It came with one song on sheet music, which she played over and over until her husband, driven insane by the repetition, chopped the piano to bits with an axe and then killed his wife and himself. Visitors have reported seeing the lightkeeper's apparition on the grounds, and some have even heard the song his wife would play over and over.
