  • 759 Main St.
  • Readfield, ME
  • (207) 377-2299
The building that houses this historical society and museum is believed to be quite haunted. Dating back to the 1850s, this two-story building features a schoolroom on the first floor and a chapel on the second. A young school-aged girl is known to linger here, along with another spirit who is said to have a hostile presence.

Some of the haunting reports here include the sounds of whispering, moans, screams, and disembodied footsteps. One visitor reported being attacked by an unseen entity, while electrical appliances go on and off on their own, and desks and chairs are moved around by themselves.
